TIBCO BusinessWorks Upgrade
The full initiative was to upgrade Tibco BusinessWorks v5.9 to v5.13 and also to implement the Dell Boomi ESB both to support the Quantum project and the legacy stabilisation initiatives.
Tibco is a crucial component of operational services and systems within Toyota Finance Australia. The version of the product running was no longer supported and did not meet TFA information security requirements with external systems and partners, representing a significant operational risk to Toyota Finance Australia.
The target version of Tibco (5.13) does not have an end of support life date specified and is the version that the majority of Tibco’s customer base run on.
The implementation of PEGA Software as a Service requires an ESB capable of providing a secure performant getaway to both external and internal services. With the implementation of the Dell Boomi platform, this project is building strategically for a future integration platform and to integrate existing legacy Tibco-based services.
To cover all 26 Applications across Fleet and Retail Business Unit and external vendors and over 72 TIBCO service calls, the DX Test Lead identified and mapped the relationship between TIBCO Service Group and the applications. This approach was also based on the Migration plan of Applications in Scope across new platform and TIBCO version 5.13.
Prior to migration, regression was performed to provide a baseline status of the Applications and TIBCO services v5.9, and this was used for comparison post migration, to set a baseline for performance testing. Subsequently, the migration was completed successfully, performance validated and the security and operational risks eliminated.
